2024 was a big year for me and the team at large, marking our first ever endurance event completion as an EV team, placing 20th out of 75 universities and earning two awards at two separate competitions!
As a second year mechatronics student, I was tasked with building a robot system that could roll around, detect and collect glass beads, and sort them by color, depositing them into a container.
I spent my first year on Western Formula Racing learning as much as I could about the team, design and manufacturing of an EV, while designing livery, merchandise, and a new logo for the team.
I wanted to learn Java by doing a project, and I was interested in phsyics and collision calculation algorthims, so I designed a collision sim in Java from scratch!
I worked in a team of 4 people and had 8 hours and limited resources to create a mousetrap car!
